Jainam Communication is tucked away in Kasba Peth 5th Cross 303, which is a pretty busy part of the neighborhood if you know the area. The shop isn't very large, so things tend to get a bit crowded when more than two or three people walk in at the same time. I spend most of my day sitting at the small desk near the front glass, mostly fixing phones or helping people with their mobile recharges. The air inside can get a bit stuffy during the summer months because the fan doesn't reach every corner, but we manage. Kasba Peth has these narrow lanes and there is always some noise from the scooters zooming past the cross. I keep a stack of old spare parts in the back corner because you never know when someone might need a specific screw or a screen for an older model. My brother stops by in the afternoons to bring lunch and we sit on the plastic stools to eat quickly before someone else walks in needing a SIM card. It’s a simple routine and the shop has been at this same spot for a while now. I try to keep the glass display clean, but fingerprints always end up on it by noon. It is just a regular local spot where people stop by when their tech stops working or they need a quick top-up for their data plans. We keep the doors open even when it rains.
