Our place is in Nigdi at Pant Nagar, in a building called Kauslya Niwas, room T-1-970. We run the packing and moving business from here. It is more of a residential neighborhood, so it is a bit quieter than the main markets. We have our gear stored nearby, like the thick blankets for wrapping furniture and the nylon ropes we use for tying things down on the trucks. Most days start with us checking the list of items for the next move. Packing up a whole house is a lot of work, and we spend hours on our knees wrapping legs of tables or taping up boxes of kitchen stuff. It is dusty and tiring, especially when there are many stairs involved in a move. We’ve had this spot in Pant Nagar for a while now. The neighbors know us by the trucks parked outside and the stacks of empty crates we sometimes have. We use a lot of markers to label everything so things don’t get lost. It is a simple operation. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just work through people telling their friends about us. The office is just a place to keep the paperwork and take calls. It’s honest, hard work that keeps us busy from dawn till dusk most days. We just try to get the job done without breaking anything.
