Jafer Khan

Jafer Khan is located in Mangalwar Peth, right near Laxmi Road. It’s one of those parts of town that never really sleeps. If you know Pune, you know how busy Laxmi Road can get, especially during the festival seasons. Our spot is just off the main drag, so we get a bit of that energy without being right in the middle of the worst traffic. The building we are in has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain out. We spend most of our hours here, from early morning until the shops around us start closing their shutters. The stairs up to our area are a bit steep and narrow, so you have to watch your step. We’ve got a couple of old chairs and a big table where everything happens. It’s not a corporate office by any means. There are stacks of papers and some old tools lying around. We’ve been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise from the street anymore. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s a simple way of working. We don't have a website or anything like that, just this physical location where we do what we do. People find us by word of mouth or by just wandering in from Mangalwar Peth. It’s a decent place to be if you like being part of the city.
