Our office is situated right on the Mumbai Pune Road in Wakdewadi. Being on such a main road means there is constant traffic outside, but inside we just focus on the telecom equipment. It is an older building, typical for this part of town, and it has that solid, functional feel to it. We deal with a lot of hardware and cables that keep the phones working. Most of our days are spent checking inventory or talking to technicians who are out in the field. Wakdewadi is a well-known landmark, so people usually do not have trouble finding us, though the entrance can be a bit tricky with the highway traffic. The walls are lined with old charts and some of the desks have been here as long as the staff. We do not have fancy glass partitions or modern lounge areas. It is a place for work. We handle a lot of logistics for the equipment that goes out to different sites across the region. Sometimes the paperwork piles up, and the coffee machine in the corner is probably the most used thing in the room. It is a steady environment, and not much changes day to day, which is fine by us. We have seen the Mumbai Pune Road transform quite a bit over the decades, but we are still here doing the same essential tasks with the telephone systems and the infrastructure that supports them.
