You can find us at Plot No 219, right on Jain Temple Road in Shivaji Nagar. It’s a fairly narrow street, so when the deliveries come, it can be a bit of a squeeze to get the trucks in and out. The sound of the bells from the temple is something we hear every day, and it sort of marks the time for us. We do a lot of processing and packing here. There are big sacks of ingredients sitting on pallets and the smell of raw grains is everywhere. We don’t use any high-tech gadgets; it’s mostly just us and a few old machines that get the job done. The floor is concrete and we spend a lot of time sweeping it to keep the dust down. Shivaji Nagar is a lively neighborhood, so there’s always something going on outside our door. We’ve got neighbors who have been here as long as we have, and we all just look out for each other. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We wear our regular clothes and talk about whatever is in the news while we work. Some days the heat is a bit much, but we have some old ceiling fans that help a little. We just try to get our orders out on time and make sure everything is packed correctly. It’s a simple life and a simple business, really, and we are fine with that.
