Kudalwadi is a tough area for work, lots of scrap and heavy industry, but it suits us just fine. We have a big space filled with heavy machinery and parts. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice shirt. We’re usually covered in a bit of oil or dust by midday. Our team is made up of people who have been doing this for years. They don’t need much instruction; they just know what needs to happen when they walk in. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We’re just engineers and mechanics at heart. The building at 688 Chikhlee has seen better days, maybe, but it’s sturdy and it holds everything we need. We don't have a big marketing budget or a social media manager. We just rely on the fact that we've been here for a long time and people know where to find us. Sometimes the power goes out, or a machine breaks down, and we just deal with it. It’s just part of the daily grind. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India, despite the name. We just want to do our engineering work and keep the shop running here at Indian Engineering Industries Ltd for as long as possible.
