Our store is located in Budhwar Peth on S T Road, at number 431. It is right in the middle of a very old and crowded part of the city. We sell just about everything you might need for a house, from soap and brushes to small snacks and plastic buckets. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes we have to use a rickety old ladder to get things down for people. It is a bit of a maze inside, and if you don't know where something is, you will never find it on your own. Budhwar Peth is always full of people, and the S T Road has buses and rickshaws going past at all hours. The noise is constant, but we like the energy of it. We spend a lot of time just restocking the bins and making sure nothing has expired. We don't have a computer for the bills, just a simple book where we write things down. Many of our customers have been coming to us for years, so we know their names and what they usually buy. In the monsoon, the rain pours down the street, and we have to put up some plastic sheets to keep the front dry. It is a small, honest shop that doesn't try to be anything it isn't. We just open up in the morning and wait for the first customer to walk through the door. Things stay busy until late at night.
