Ikon Communications

Ikon Communications is our small shop over in New Sangvi, right on the Evasandra Main Road in Ayyappa Nagar. We’re at 3/A/1, which is a busy little corner. Most of what we do involves helping people with their mobile phones, whether it’s a screen that cracked or someone needing a quick recharge. It’s not a big fancy showroom with glass walls. It’s just a small counter with a few stools and a lot of wires and tools scattered around the back. I started this place because I liked fixing things, and there’s always someone in the neighborhood who has a problem with their device. Sometimes I can fix it in ten minutes, and other times it takes a few days to get the right parts delivered. People often drop in just to ask a question about their data plan or how to use a new app. It gets pretty cramped when more than two people are waiting, but everyone is usually patient. The noise from the main road is always there in the background, but you stop noticing it after a while. We don't have any big corporate signs, just a simple board outside. It’s a decent living, and it’s nice being part of the Ayyappa Nagar community. We just take things one repair at a time and try to be useful to the folks around here. It can be stressful when parts are late, but we manage somehow. It’s just how the job goes.
