Hotel Poonam

Hotel Poonam has been sitting here in Deccan Gymkhana for quite some time. We are located over at Telco Senior Officerscooperative Housing Society 629/3. It’s a quiet enough area most of the time, though traffic gets a bit heavy in the evenings. We took over the place from the previous owners and decided to keep the name because everyone already knew it. The building is older, but it holds up well. We spend a lot of our time making sure the rooms are tidy and the guests have what they need for the night. It’s a lot of laundry and a lot of checking keys, to be honest. We aren't a big chain hotel with fancy lobbies. It’s just us and a few helpers keeping things running. Sometimes the light in the hallway flickers, but we try to stay on top of repairs when we can. Most people staying here are just passing through for work or visiting family nearby. We like talking to the regulars who stay with us every time they’re in town. It feels more like a house than a business some days. We don't do big advertisements. Word of mouth usually brings people to 629/3. We just try to keep it simple and honest. If a pipe leaks, we fix it. If someone is hungry, we tell them where the good food is. It’s a living, and we enjoy being part of the neighborhood.
