Hotel Orient

Our hotel is situated at 1 Somwar Peth, very close to the Hanumanji Temple here in Pune. Being in the 411001 area means we’re in an older, more traditional part of the city. We see a lot of people who come specifically to visit the temple or who have things to do in the Peth area. It’s a bit of an old building, but it has been around for a long time and we do our best to look after it. The atmosphere around here is quite different from the newer parts of Pune. You can hear the temple bells and the sounds of the local market nearby. We keep the hotel running in a very basic way. There’s a desk for check-ins, a few rooms on each floor, and we handle the cleaning ourselves. It’s not a place with a lot of bells and whistles. We just provide a place for people to sleep. Most of our guests are looking for something affordable and close to the city center. We spend our days dealing with the usual stuff—changing linens, fixing leaky taps, and talking to the people who stop by. It’s a slow and steady kind of business. We’ve known some of our neighbors for decades. If you’re looking for a spot that feels like the old city and isn't trying to be fancy, that's us. We just keep things moving and make sure the door stays open for whoever needs a room.
