Hotel Krishna Presidency

We’re tucked back behind Modern Cafe in the Shivaji Nagar area. Hotel Krishna Presidency is at 364/365/16 Bamroli, which is a bit of a quiet pocket in a very busy part of Pune. I like the location because it’s central but doesn't feel like you’re right on the main road. I’ve been running this place for a few years now. It’s not a big corporate hotel, just a local business. We have a lot of students and office workers coming by since it’s Shivaji Nagar. The 411005 area has everything you need, so we mostly just focus on providing the rooms. I spend my afternoons checking the inventory and making sure the plumbing is okay. Sometimes we have a full house and it gets a bit hectic, but usually, it’s a steady pace. I don't go for fancy decorations or expensive art. I just want the beds to be comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. The staff is just a few guys from the neighborhood. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything. We just show up, clean the rooms, and help the guests with whatever they need. It’s a practical way to run a business. We’ve been here long enough that people know to look behind the cafe to find us. It works for us and it works for the people who stay here. My day usually ends with a quick walk around the floor to check the locks.
