Hotel Gyanraj

You have to look closely to find Hotel Gyanraj because we are tucked away in Bhosarigoan Behind Diamond Hotel Ganesh Nagar. It’s a bit of a maze back here with all the small streets and houses clustered together. Our building isn't the tallest, but we have a solid sign out front so people don't get lost. The dining area has a few fans that hum quite loudly, especially in the afternoons. We serve mostly local people who live in Ganesh Nagar or workers who are passing through Bhosari. The kitchen is tucked in the back and that’s where most of the noise comes from. We have a couple of guys who have been cooking here for years and they know exactly how the locals like their food. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow road and we have to help the driver navigate out. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but that’s just how life is in this part of town. We keep the tables wiped down and the water jugs filled. We don't have any fancy waiters in uniforms. It’s just us in our regular clothes, taking orders and bringing out the plates. It’s a plain place, but it’s ours. We spend a lot of time just sitting out front when it’s slow, watching the world go by behind the bigger hotel. It can be a long day, but we are used to the rhythm of this neighborhood now.
