Hotel Gulmohr

Our address is 15 A / 1 on Connaught Road, right in the heart of the 411001 zip code area. It’s a central location, so we get a lot of noise from the street, but you get used to it after a while. The building has been standing for many years and it has a bit of an old-school feel to it. We don't have any of those fancy elevators or glass walls. It’s mostly just brick and mortar and wooden doors. We spend our mornings checking the rooms and talking to the people who are leaving. Most of the work is just manual labor, like carrying bags or scrubbing the tiles. We aren't a big corporation with a lot of rules. We just treat people like we’d want to be treated ourselves. Sometimes the plumbing acts up because the pipes are old, but we have a plumber on call who lives just down the street. We like being on Connaught Road because everything we need is within walking distance. We know the guy who sells tea at the corner and the woman who runs the newsstand. It feels like we are part of the history of this street. We keep things simple and practical. There’s no need for big advertisements when you’ve been in the same spot for this long. We just keep the lights on and the rooms ready for the next person.
