Hotel Aura on Shankarsheth Road. This is a busy part of Pune. Our address is 37/2. It’s a white building that sits right on the side of the road. I’ve been the one answering the door here for a couple of years now. The traffic on Shankarsheth Road never really stops, so there’s always a hum of engines in the background. We have a small parking area out front, but it fills up fast. Inside, it’s a bit quieter. The rooms are arranged along a long hallway. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors because of all the dust from the road. We don't have any of those fancy breakfast buffets. There is a small tea stall nearby where most of our guests go in the morning. We just focus on keeping the beds clean and the lights working. Sometimes the plumbing acts up, but we fix it as soon as we can. It’s just a regular business run by regular people. We don't have a big corporate office telling us what to do. We just decide things as they come up. Most people stay for a night while they are traveling to other parts of Maharashtra. We give them their keys, show them where the water is, and let them rest. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We don't pretend to be a five-star place. It’s just Hotel Aura. We keep things moving as best as we can.
