Harihanuman Kitchen

If you come down to Dhanori 15, you will find Harihanuman Kitchen. It is a modest place where we spend our whole day around heat and steam. We start the work very early, usually when most people are still asleep, to get the base for our cooking ready. The kitchen is always filled with the smell of spices and the sound of bubbling pots. It is not a place for fine dining or fancy decorations. We focus entirely on the food and making sure it tastes like a home-cooked meal. There is a lot of chopping, stirring, and cleaning to be done in a small space. We have a few big burners that stay lit for most of the day. The walls have some wear and tear from the years of cooking, but we keep the utensils and the surfaces as clean as possible. We serve the local people who live around Dhanori, and many of them have been coming to us for a long time. It gets very hot in here during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and stay focused on the orders. We don't have a long, complicated menu, just a few things that we know how to make properly. It is a simple life centered around the stove and the kitchen counter. We just take one order at a time and try to keep everyone fed.
