Hanuman Store

Hanuman Store is located right in the heart of Aundh. We have been here since before the area got as busy as it is now. It is a small shop, but we try to keep it stocked with the essentials that everyone needs. From soaps to packets of biscuits, we have a little bit of everything squeezed onto the shelves. The ceiling is a bit low, and the fan makes a clicking sound when it is on the high setting, but it keeps the air moving. A large staff isn't something we need, so it is usually just myself or a cousin helping out during the lunch rush. A lot of the college students from nearby stop in for a quick snack or a drink between their classes. Knowing the neighbors well is part of the job, and we often hear about what’s going on in their lives while we are bagging their items. It is not a fancy supermarket with bright lights and automatic doors. We have a simple wooden counter and some old stools if someone needs to sit for a minute. Sometimes we run out of change, so we have to ask customers if they have a smaller bill. It is just a normal, everyday shop where people can get their basic supplies without any hassle. Fancy displays aren't really our style. We just put the goods where people can see them and wait for the next person to walk through the door.
