Gurudatta Pan Shop

We are located on Sangavi Old Police Station Road. It’s a decent spot for a shop like ours. My father started this place, and now I handle most of the daily work here. The morning usually starts with cleaning the glass and arranging the small jars we have on the shelves. People often stop by while they are walking towards the main road. The old police station is a good landmark, so people find us easily. It gets a bit dusty because of the traffic, so I have to wipe the counter quite often. We don't have many chairs, just a small stool behind the counter. It’s a bit cramped when we have more than two people waiting, but we manage. I spend a lot of time just watching the street and talking to the regulars who live in the lanes nearby. We don't use any big machines or anything, everything is done by hand. Sometimes we run out of change, which is a bit of a headache during the rush hours. The evenings are usually the busiest time for Gurudatta Pan Shop. That is when the local workers finish their shifts. We stay open until fairly late, depending on how many people are still out and about. It’s just a normal way to earn a living, nothing special about it. We just try to stay consistent and keep the shop running every day without too many days off. Sometimes the street lights don't work well, but our shop light stays on. Being near the police station road makes the area feel safe even at night. I hope to keep this place going for many more years, just like my father did before me. It is hard work but it is honest work.
