We set this up here in Dighwad because a group of us felt it was time to work together on the farming side of things. Our spot is right at the Vividh Karyakari Patsanstha building, No 1/A. It’s a small place, mostly just a spot to meet and sort out the crops. Most people around Chandwad know where we are because we’ve lived here our whole lives. We don’t have fancy offices or anything like that. It is just a bunch of folks trying to get the best out of the land. Sometimes the rains are good and sometimes they aren't, but we keep going regardless of the weather. We deal with the seeds, the harvesting, and trying to find buyers who don't push us around too much on the price. It gets very busy during harvest time, and you’ll usually find someone here early in the morning before the sun gets too high. We don’t spend much time on the computer, to be honest. Most of our work is out there or talking to the other farmers who drop by to see what's happening with the collective. We've been in this area a long time, so we know the soil and what grows well. It’s a lot of physical work and the paperwork side is always a bit of a headache for us. But we manage it. If you are passing through Dighwad and need to talk about produce, this is where we sit. It’s quiet mostly, until the trucks show up to load the bags.
