If you are driving down Wakad road, you’ll see our shop, Green chemist 24 hr. We are located at shop number one and two, right near the Capriccio building which belongs to the Rama group. Being open twenty-four hours means the lights are always on, even when the rest of the street is dark and quiet. It gets pretty lonely in the middle of the night, but then someone always shows up needing something urgent for a fever or a bandage. We have two shops connected to each other to make enough room for all the different medicines and healthcare items we have to keep. The traffic on Wakad road is usually heavy, so there is always a bit of noise from the cars and bikes outside. During the day, it’s a lot busier with people popping in while they are out running errands. The staff shifts change at eight, and we spend a good amount of time checking the computer and making sure the fridge is working right for the insulin. It’s a lot of work staying open all the time without a break, but it’s what we do. The floor gets dirty quickly with so many people walking in, so we are constantly sweeping. We don’t do much advertising because people just know we are here if they need something at three in the morning. It’s just a practical, local pharmacy doing its job for the folks in Wakad.
