This is our diesel engine unit located right on the Mumbai-Pune Road. We are situated pretty close to the Akurdi Circle, right opposite the Star Bazar Mall. It’s a very busy stretch of road and there is always something going on outside. Inside the gates, we focus on engines and mechanical parts. The facility is quite large compared to some of the smaller shops in the area. We have been here for a long time and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us, especially with the mall coming up across the street. The sound of engines being tested is a regular part of the day here. It can get quite loud, but that is the nature of the business. We have different sections for assembly and maintenance. Most of the staff comes in from the nearby residential areas. It is a convenient spot because of the highway access, even if the traffic is a nightmare during peak hours. We deal with a lot of heavy components and oily parts. The floors are concrete and we try to keep the grease under control. It is a steady environment where everyone knows their role. We see a lot of trucks coming in and out for pickups. Being near the Akurdi Circle makes it easy for people to give directions to our place. It’s just a regular industrial unit doing its thing every day. We drink a lot of tea while talking over the engine specs. The main gate is usually open for deliveries throughout the day.
