Golden Furniture Works

Our workshop, Golden Furniture Works, is located at 846 Ranjane within the Laxmi Industrial Estate. We are quite close to the Pudamji Gate, which makes it easier for people to find us in this big complex. This is not a shop with a glass front and fancy lights. It is a real working space where we spend our days cutting wood and putting things together. There is always a layer of sawdust over everything, and the air smells like fresh timber and glue. We make all kinds of things like cupboards, bed frames, and tables. It is loud because of the saws and the hammers, but that is just the sound of work being done. We have a few guys who have been with us for a long time, and we all just get on with the jobs as they come in. The space is crowded with stacks of plywood and old projects that are waiting to be picked up. We do not really have a place for people to sit, so customers usually just stand around and talk to us while we work. It gets very hot in here during the summer months, but we just keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze we can. It is a tough, physical job, but there is something good about seeing a pile of wood turn into something useful. We just do our work and hope it lasts for the people who buy it. There is always something new to build or a repair to finish up.
