Our corner of Sadashiv Peth at 1411 is tucked away in the Shree Dattakrupa building. If you are familiar with Pune, you know these lanes are narrow and the buildings are quite old. It is a traditional part of town, and our office fits right into that style. We don't have any modern glass windows or a big lobby. It is actually a bit cramped inside because of all the trading records and ledgers we have piled up on the shelves. We deal with various trading activities, mostly acting as a link between different buyers and sellers. It takes up a lot of time on the phone and scribbling down notes on whatever paper is nearby. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, so we just sit and wait or use the light from the windows. We aren't trying to look like a polished corporate firm. We just do the trading work that needs doing. The building has that specific old smell, like a mix of paper and dust. Our neighbors are other small shops or families who have lived in Sadashiv Peth for generations. It gets a bit noisy when the local school closes for the day, but we are used to it. We don't have a marketing team. We just rely on the fact that we have been at this spot for years and people know us.
