Giri Raj Steel Works

Our workshop is situated at Surya Heights, No 1, in Khadki East. We are right next to the Bank of Maharastra, which is a busy spot in the neighborhood. Giri Raj Steel Works is basically a ground-floor space where we do all kinds of metal fabrication. The floor is made of rough stone and it’s usually covered in iron filings and scrap pieces of steel. It’s not a clean environment, but it’s where the real work happens. We have several welding machines and grinders that run for most of the day. The smell of hot metal is always present. We don't have a showroom or any place to display our work. If you want to see what we do, you just have to look at what we are currently building on the floor. It is a small team of us here, and we all know our roles. We don't bother with fancy titles or meetings. We just look at the drawings and start cutting. The Khadki area is a good place to be, with lots of small shops and people moving about. We’ve been here long enough that the sounds of our work don't seem to bother the bank customers next door anymore. We just keep our heads down and finish the projects as they come in. It’s a practical life, working with your hands and making things out of steel.
