Ghumatkar Hospital

Our hospital is situated right on Wada Road. If you’ve traveled this way, you know the road can get quite busy with trucks and cars moving through at all hours. We are right there in the middle of it. The building is a sturdy structure that has stood up to plenty of monsoons over the years. Inside, things are usually moving pretty fast. We have patients coming in from the nearby villages and the local town area. The floors are made of tile and they get a lot of wear and tear, so we are always mopping them to keep the dust down. We don’t have a big fancy lobby with a water feature or anything like that. It’s just a counter, some benches, and a lot of people waiting their turn. The doctors and nurses are usually rushing from one room to another, checking on people and updating charts. It can be a bit chaotic on Mondays or after a holiday, but we manage to get through the queue eventually. We have a few wards where people stay for a while, and the kitchen usually smells like whatever soup or tea is being prepared for the afternoon. It’s a practical place. We focus on getting the work done rather than how the walls look. The noise from Wada Road is always there in the background, a constant reminder of how much is happening outside while we work on the inside to help whoever comes through our doors.
