Genius Systems

Our place is in the Dangat Industrial Estate over in Shivane. We are on the first floor, Sr. No. 78/1. Pune has changed a lot, but this industrial patch still feels the same. It’s a bit of a drive out here depending on where you live, but it’s where all the heavy work happens. Genius Systems is the name on the door, though most days we’re just regular people trying to figure out technical problems. The space is fairly large since we need room for the equipment and the workbenches. It gets a bit dusty because of the industrial surroundings, but that’s just part of being in this area. We have been here for a good amount of time now. The first floor is okay, not too many stairs to climb. There is no big reception or anything; you just walk in and someone will be there at a desk or working on a machine. It’s a practical setup. Most of our time goes into assembly or checking parts that come in. Lunch is usually a quiet affair, with everyone bringing their own dabbas and sitting around. We don't really do big meetings. If something needs fixing, we just talk across the room. It’s a simple way of working that suits us just fine. Being in Shivane means we are close to our suppliers too, which helps keep things moving along without much delay.
