Our workshop is tucked away in Sadashiv Peth, Pune. It’s one of those old parts of town where the lanes are narrow and everyone knows each other. We’ve got machines running most of the day so it gets pretty loud inside. There is usually a bit of oil on the floor and metal shavings near the lathes. It’s an engineering shop, so it’s supposed to be like that. We work on all sorts of parts and repairs that people bring in. Some jobs are quick and others take a few days of tinkering. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the sign outside. Most of the guys here have been working with metal for a long time. We use old tools that still work better than the new stuff sometimes. The tea stall around the corner is where we take our breaks. It gets hot in the summer with the machines going, but we keep the fans on full blast. Sadashiv Peth has a lot of history and we feel like a part of that fabric now. People know they can find us here if something breaks or needs a custom fit. We don't make big promises, we just look at the piece and tell you if we can fix it. It's honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till evening. The grease under our fingernails is just part of the daily life here.
