Ganga Jamuna General Store

Ganga Jamuna General Store is located at 86, Camp, right in the middle of Pune. We are directly opposite the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Stand in the Solapur Bazar area, which means we never really have a quiet moment. There is always the sound of buses pulling in and out and conductors shouting destinations. Most of our customers are people traveling who just need a bottle of water, some biscuits, or a bar of soap. Because we are near the bus stand, the shop is packed with all sorts of small items that someone might need on a long journey. The floor gets dirty very quickly with so many people walking in and out all day long. We keep a big clock on the wall, but I rarely have time to look at it when the rush starts. The shelves are crowded and we have stuff hanging from the rafters too, just to make more room. It can get pretty hot with the sun beating down on the pavement outside, so we keep the ceiling fan on full blast. We don't do anything fancy with the marketing, we just keep the doors open and make sure we have enough stock for the next busload of people. Dealing with travelers is interesting because you meet people from all over, even if it is just for a minute while they pay for their snacks.
