About Ganesh Fruit Stall – Food & Beverages in Pune
The day starts at the wholesale market long before most people are even awake. I have to pick out the best crates of whatever is in season, whether it’s mangoes, bananas, or apples, and bring them back to Pimple Saudagar kalupur. Setting up Ganesh Fruit Stall takes a good amount of effort. I have to stack the fruit so it doesn't bruise, which is harder than it looks when you’re dealing with hundreds of kilos of produce. The air around the stall always smells sweet, but it also gets dusty because of the road nearby. I spend a lot of my time shooing away flies and making sure the displays look decent enough for people to stop their scooters. Regular customers come by and argue about the price for a few minutes before buying a dozen bananas. I know most of them by name or at least by what they usually buy. My hands are usually sticky from the fruit or dirty from the wooden crates by the time I close up. It’s a tiring job standing on your feet all day in the heat, but it’s what I know. We don't have fancy packaging or anything like that. You just get your fruit in a simple bag and go on your way. It’s just a local stall trying to provide some fresh stuff to the neighborhood people every day. I just hope the rain stays away during the peak selling hours.
