Fine Sheet Metal Works

Our shop is tucked away in Block-J of Bhosari, over at Plot J-198. It’s right in the middle of the M.I.D.C area, so there’s always noise from the other factories nearby. We spend most of our time working with sheet metal. You can hear the shears and the bending machines from down the street. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we’re used to it. The road toward Indrayani Nagar gets pretty backed up in the evenings when everyone is leaving the shifts. We’ve been in this specific spot for quite some time. The walls have a lot of scratches and the floor is always covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil. That's just the nature of the work. If someone comes by looking for us, they usually have to shout over the machines until we turn them off. It’s a small team here. We don’t have a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, the person answering the phone is the same person who was just cutting a piece of steel. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the scrap pile grows faster than we can move it. The roof leaks a tiny bit when the monsoon hits hard, so we have to move the stock around. It’s just how things go. We just focus on the jobs we have in front of us each day and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad.
