Fine Packaging Industries

We are set up at Survey Number 6, near Vanshiv Vasti in the Dhankawadi area. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot, but it works for what we do. Packaging involves a lot of big machines and even bigger rolls of material, so we need the floor space. The floors are concrete and usually have scraps of paper or plastic lying around during the workday. We try to keep it tidy, but when we’re busy, the priority is getting the boxes out. The noise from the cutters and folders is constant. It’s not a quiet place to work, but we’re used to it. The staff is mostly local people from around Dhankawadi. We don't have a big HR department or anything like that; we just talk to each other to get things sorted. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is frustrating but that’s life here. Our office is just a small partitioned area with a couple of old computers and a printer that jams too often. We take our lunch breaks together when the machines are off. It’s a straightforward business. We make the packaging that other people use for their products. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from Monday to Saturday. The neighbors are mostly other small workshops like ours, so we all get along okay. It’s just a normal factory life for us here near Vanshiv Vasti.
