Ferns General Store

We’ve been here in Chinchwad East on Zadeswer Road for a while now. The shop isn’t anything fancy, just a regular place where you can find what you need for the house. Every morning I come in, unlock the big metal shutters, and sweep the front step. It gets dusty pretty quick with all the traffic going by. Inside, the shelves are packed high with all sorts of things, maybe a bit too high sometimes. I know where everything is, even if it looks a bit messy to someone just walking in from the street. There’s a ceiling fan that clicks on the second setting, but it keeps the air moving when it gets really hot in the afternoons. People from around the neighborhood stop by, some just to say hello or grab a small thing they forgot at the bigger market. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us making sure things stay in stock and the floor stays mostly clean. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and we have to wait around, but that’s just how it goes here. It’s a quiet life on this stretch of the road. I usually sit on the wooden stool behind the counter when it’s slow. The lights are a bit dim in the back corner, but I haven't gotten around to changing the bulb yet. It’s just Ferns General Store, nothing more to it than that.
