Durvankur Pan Shop

Durvankur Pan Shop is located in the Hadapsar GIDC Industrial Estate in Makarpura. Being in an industrial area means we see a lot of workers throughout the day. It’s a dusty place with all the factories and trucks moving around, but we keep our little corner as clean as we can. I usually spend the day preparing the leaves and getting the ingredients ready for when the shifts end. That’s when it gets really busy. Men from the factories come by for a quick break or before they head home. It’s a simple setup, just a small stall with the essentials. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. The GIDC estate is a big place, but people seem to find their way to us easily enough. I spend a lot of time just organizing the jars on the shelf so everything is within reach when the crowd hits. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I can tell what a regular wants before they even say anything. It’s not a glamorous job, standing here in the heat and the noise of the machines nearby, but it’s steady work. We talk about the weather or the local news while I prepare the pans. It makes the day go by faster. We don’t have a website or a fancy business plan. We just stay open as long as there are people working in the factories. It’s a basic life, but it works for us.
