Dum A Dum

Our shop is located at Shubham Heights, right there on the Pune Bangalore Highway in Warje. It’s Shop No 2. Being near the highway means we see a lot of people passing through at all hours. We started this place because we wanted a spot where locals and travelers could get a meal. The kitchen isn't very big, but we make it work with what we have. Most days, it’s just a lot of steam and the smell of spices filling up the space. We open up early to get things ready for the lunch rush. It can get pretty loud with the highway traffic right outside, but you get used to it after a week or two. We aren't trying to be a five-star place. It's just a regular shop where we serve food. Some people stop by while they are driving long distances, and others live right here in the apartments above us. We know most of the regulars by their first names now. The menu doesn't change much because people usually know what they want before they even walk in. We spend a lot of time cleaning up and making sure the counters are wiped down. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so everyone chips in where they can. Sometimes my brother handles the front, and I stay in the back. It’s not always easy keeping up with the rush, but we manage to get through it every single day. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
