Dum A Dum

You can find us at Shop No 1 in Dhanraj Park, located in the Chinchwad area. We are right on the commercial street near Kaskade Wasti. The shop is mostly for people picking up parcels, but there is a tiny space if you want to eat here. Those big metal pots are usually the first thing people notice. They stay on the burners with steam rolling out from under the lids. The smell of spices and rice is very strong and usually sticks to my clothes. Every morning starts early with all the prep work. I spend hours chopping herbs and getting the ingredients measured out. By the time noon rolls around, we are ready for the lunch rush. The commercial street gets very hectic with all the motorcycles and shoppers. It is a bit of a mess outside our door some days. Much of my time is spent packing food into plastic containers and tying up bags. My hands stay busy writing down orders and making sure everything is correct. We don't use fancy menus, just a simple list of what we cooked that day. Sometimes we sell out of everything early and I have to turn people away. The concrete floor is easy to spray down when we close up. Standing in a hot kitchen all day is tough, but it’s just the job. Chinchwad is a busy place to be. I hope the weather stays good for the walk-in business because rain usually slows everything down.
