The pharmacy is right on the Mumbai Pune Road in Wakdewadi. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always the sound of horns and trucks passing by outside. Inside, it’s a bit quieter and smells like medicine and clean floors. We spend a lot of our time standing behind the counters or climbing ladders to reach the top shelves where the less common stuff is kept. Being in Wakdewadi, we see a lot of people coming in from the nearby offices or houses. We don’t have any big posters or loud advertisements in the windows. We just have the shelves filled with boxes and bottles. Sometimes the delivery trucks come in the afternoon, and we have to spend a couple of hours checking everything against the lists. It can be tiring on the feet, but we take turns sitting down in the back room for a break. We’ve been at this location for a while, so we know where everything is without even looking. The computer we use is a bit old and slow, but it gets the job done for recording the sales. People usually just want to get their items and get back to their day, so we try to move as fast as we can. It’s a simple setup, really. Just a local pharmacy on a very busy road trying to stay organized and keep the shelves stocked up.
