You can find Dnyanda Publication Pvt.Ltd. over at 203 Shankar Parvati Chambers on Dhole Patil Rd. It’s an office building that’s seen a lot of people come and go over the years. We’re on the second floor, and our space is pretty much filled with stacks of paper, books, and manuscripts. It’s a bit of a mess, to be honest, but it’s a working mess. Dhole Patil Rd is a lively part of Pune, so there’s always something happening outside. We can hear the traffic and the people talking on the sidewalk from our windows. We spend our days going over proofs, talking to printers, and trying to keep everything organized. It’s a small team, so we don’t have a lot of formality. Someone might be making tea while another person is arguing over a layout. The elevator in Shankar Parvati Chambers is a bit slow, so many of us just take the stairs. We don’t have a big lobby or a fancy sign. We just have our name on the door and a lot of work on our desks. It’s a simple life of publishing, and we’ve been doing it from this same spot for a while now. We like being close to the center of the city where everything is within reach. It’s just a regular office where we try to put out books without too much fuss and deal with the daily chores that come with it.
