Down here in Dhayari Gaon, things are usually pretty loud because of all the metalwork. Our shop is at S. No. 132/2 on D. S. K. Road, right near the Pirka Mandir and Tirsa Mandir. It’s a bit of a walk to get here if you don’t know the area well. We spend most of our time cutting and welding steel. It’s dirty work and our hands are always stained with grease or iron dust. We’ve been at this spot in Bargani Mala for a long time now. The workshop isn't much to look at, just a big space filled with scraps of metal and some heavy tools. We make gates, railings, and whatever else people need for their houses. Sometimes someone comes in with a sketch on a piece of scrap paper and asks if we can make it. We do our best with what we have. The tea stall nearby is where we spend our breaks, just watching the traffic go by on the main road. It gets really hot in the summer with the welding machines running all day long. We don't have fancy sales people or a reception desk. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't wearing a welding mask at the moment. It’s a local business through and through, just a few guys working with their hands every day to get the jobs finished. We are just a small part of the village here.
