Designing Screen

If you find yourself in Shaniwar Peth, you might see us at Aniket Society, Shop No 4. We are right there in Mantri Heights, which is pretty easy to spot since it’s opposite Hotel Basera. Designing Screen is where I spend most of my hours. Being near the Dakshinmukhi Maruti Mandir means we hear the temple bells sometimes, which is a nice break from the traffic on Bajirao Road. The road outside is always packed with cars and people heading somewhere important. Inside the shop, it’s a bit different. We have our screens and tools spread out. It’s not the neatest place, but we know where everything is. I usually start my day by checking what needs to be done first. Sometimes the ink smells a bit strong, but you get used to it after a few years. Shaniwar Peth has that old city feel, even with all the new shops coming up around us. We’ve seen many businesses come and go in Mantri Heights, but we just keep doing our thing. People stop in because they saw our sign while walking to the temple or after eating at the hotel across the street. I don't really do much fancy talking, I just show them what we can do with the screens. By the time evening rolls around, the street lights on Bajirao Road are humming and I start cleaning up the stray bits of material from the floor. It’s a good spot to be.
