The shop is tucked away in Deccan Gymkhana at number 61. Delta Mobile Shopee started small, mostly just doing quick repairs for friends and neighbors who had dropped their phones. Now the shelves are full of different phone cases, chargers, and screen protectors that we get from the big distributors. Working with electronics means my hands are always a bit oily or dusty from opening up old handsets. People bring in phones with cracked screens all the time. Sometimes they are in a hurry and wait right there at the glass counter while I work. It gets loud outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the small screws and tiny wires. We sell some new phones too, but the used ones usually move faster. The lighting in the back room is a bit dim, so I use a bright desk lamp for the fine work. My cousin handles the recharges and the SIM card paperwork at the front desk. We keep a small notebook for all the repairs because the computer is slow sometimes. It’s a busy little spot. We don't have a big sign, just the one over the door that's been there for years and has faded in the sun. The paint is peeling a bit near the bottom of the wall, but the glass displays are always wiped clean. Dealing with customers takes up the whole day. Sometimes people ask for things we don't have, and we just tell them where the nearest big shop might be. We stay open late most nights.
