Deewar Pan Houses

Our shop is right on Fergusson College Road Shivaji Road. It’s a very busy area with lots of students and people shopping around all day long. Deewar Pan Houses has been in this corner for a while now. The space is small, but we have everything we need tucked into the corners. During the day, it’s mostly students from the college walking past. Some stop for a minute, others are in a hurry. We have to work fast when the crowds come in after classes end. The noise from the traffic on Shivaji Road is always there in the background. It’s never really quiet here until very late at night. We don't have any fancy decorations or bright lights. It’s just a simple wooden counter and some racks for our supplies. I usually spend my time preparing things in advance so we don't fall behind when it gets crowded. It’s a lot of standing around, but you get used to it after a few months. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and people crowd under our small roof to stay dry. We don't mind it. It’s just part of being in such a central location. Every day is a bit different depending on the events happening on FC road. We just keep the doors open and do what we do. It’s a straightforward business and we don't try to make it seem like more than it is. The traffic on Shivaji Road can be quite a headache during the peak hours, but it brings in plenty of people. You have to be patient. I usually grab a quick lunch standing up because there is no time to sit. It is a fast-paced environment here.
