Deepak Jyot Candle Works

Deepak Jyot Candle Works is located at 1590 Shukrawar Peth, right on Sanjiv Kumar Marg in the Galemandi area. If you know this part of the city, you know it gets quite busy. We’ve been making candles here for a long time. The place usually smells like wax and wick, which you get used to after a few days. It is a small setup, mostly just us and a few workers handling the molds and pouring the hot wax. We make all sorts of candles, from the plain white ones people use when the power goes out to the more colorful ones for festivals. There is no big factory line here, it’s mostly manual work. We spend a lot of time sitting and checking that the wicks are straight and the wax has cooled properly. Sometimes we run out of space because the boxes pile up, especially when a big festival is coming up. The building itself is old, typical for Shukrawar Peth, and the stairs are a bit narrow. We don't have a marketing team or a website. Most people just walk in or call us because they know we are here. It’s a bit messy sometimes with wax spills on the floor, but we clean up as we go. It’s just a honest way to make a living, day in and day out, making sure people have light when they need it. It’s quiet work, mostly, and we just keep to ourselves and get the candles boxed up for whoever needs them.
