Deep Watch

You can find Deep Watch over in Pimpri, right near Indira Gandhi High School. Being so close to a school means we see a lot of life every day. In the mornings and afternoons, the street is full of students and parents, and sometimes they drop in because a watch strap broke or they need a new battery for a calculator. Our address is H/40/1, and it’s a modest little place that we've kept running for a good while. The shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a door and a window with some watches displayed on velvet cushions that have seen better days. Inside, it smells a bit like oil and old metal, which is how a watch shop should smell, I think. We handle all sorts of repairs, from the cheap plastic watches to the heavy metal ones that people wear for years. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. If people need us, they just walk in. I usually have the radio playing softly in the background while I work. It’s a small operation, just me and occasionally a helper if things get really busy. We like being part of the Pimpri community and knowing the people who walk past our door every day. It’s a steady life, just keeping time for the neighborhood. Usually, we are open until late evening so people can stop by after work.
