Deendayal Memorial Hospital

We’ve been here on Fergusson College Road for a long time now. Most people around Pune know where Deendayal Memorial Hospital is because it’s a landmark on this busy street. Every morning the shift changes and the new nurses come in to take over from the night crew. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic, but inside we just try to keep things moving. We have different departments across the building. Some days are faster than others. Sometimes the waiting room gets full and people have to wait their turn. We don't have much fancy stuff, just the equipment needed to do the work. The doctors walk through the halls from one room to another. It's a lot of paperwork and checking charts. The tea stall nearby is where some of us go for a break when we can get five minutes away. We try to keep the floors clean even with so many people walking in and out. It’s just a regular hospital doing its part in the neighborhood. We see all kinds of cases coming through the doors. Some people stay for a day, others are here longer. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure the lights stay on and the beds are ready for whoever needs one next. We've seen the area change a lot over the years, but the hospital stays pretty much the same. We just keep our heads down and do the daily tasks required.
