Deenanth Mangeshkar Hospital

We are located at 134 Shaniwar Peth, right in the Prerna Apartment building near Apte Ghat. If you know the old part of the city, you know how the streets are narrow and everything is tucked close together. It is a different feel compared to the newer parts of town. We are right in the middle of the local life here. People walk past our doors every day on their way to the market or the river. The hospital is part of the neighborhood, and we have been here long enough that most people just know us as the local spot. The building itself is an apartment block, so it feels a bit more like a home than a giant, cold institution. We have doctors and nurses who have lived in Shaniwar Peth their whole lives. It gets a bit crowded sometimes because the space is limited, but we make it work. You can hear the sounds of the street from the windows—the scooters zooming by and people talking. It is a very grounded place. We do not worry about being the biggest or the flashiest. We just focus on the people who walk in from the street needing help. It is practical, everyday work. We know our neighbors and they know us, and that is how we like it.
