Anand Alurkar

Anand Alurkar is based right here at Sumati Clinic, which is easy to spot if you know where Sambhaji Park is. We are directly across from the park entrance, sitting right above Hotel Shivsagar in the Deccan Gymkhana area. It’s a busy part of Pune, especially on weekends when families are out walking. Being on the floor above a hotel means there is always a smell of food drifting up, which can be a bit distracting when you’re trying to focus. The stairs are a bit narrow, but once you get inside the clinic, it is pretty quiet compared to the street noise outside. We’ve been in this spot for years, and the landmarks like the park and the hotel make it easy to tell people how to find us. It’s not a huge place, just a standard medical setup where we see people throughout the day. The waiting area fills up quickly, and we try to keep things moving as much as we can. It’s a very local vibe here in Deccan. You see the same faces walking by the window every day. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes it hard to hear, but we’ve gotten used to it. The clinic isn't filled with high-tech gadgets or fancy rugs. It’s a functional space meant for work. We just keep our heads down and handle the patients who come through the door. It is a straightforward way to run a clinic.
