Daund Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Rahu, in the Pune district. Our main contact point is at Dinkar Dhondiba Shinde’s place. We aren't a big corporation with offices in the city; we are right here where the fields are. Most of the folks involved are just local farmers from the Daund area who wanted to do something together. Being in Rahu, we have a lot of different crops going on, and we try to help each other out with the logistics of it all. Dinkar’s place is where we keep our records and meet up to chat about the latest market rates. It’s a very informal setup. Sometimes the sentences we use aren't perfect, and the office isn't always tidy, but the work gets done. We don't have any polished slogans or marketing people telling us what to say. It’s just us, the Shinde family, and some other local growers. We know the roads around Pune and the challenges of the local climate quite well. Some years the rains are kind, and some years they aren't, and we just deal with it as it comes. We’re just a bunch of neighbors trying to make the farming life a little more sustainable for everyone in our circle. If you’re passing through Rahu and need to find us, just look for the Shinde household. There’s usually a tractor parked nearby and someone ready to talk about the season or the crops.
