Connexions

We’ve been here at Shukrawar Peth for quite some time now. Our shop is right on Shivaji Road, at number 351. It’s a busy spot but we like it that way. Mostly, we just handle the day-to-day things that come through the door. It’s not a big fancy operation, just a few of us working together. People usually find us when they are passing by or if someone they know told them where we are. We keep the doors open and try to get through the work pile as it comes. Sometimes it’s quiet, other times everyone comes in at once. That’s just how it goes here. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. The building is old but it stays cool in the summer which is nice. If you’re walking down Shivaji Road, you’ll probably see the sign. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. New shops open and others close, but we’re still here at the same spot. It’s a decent place to work. We know most of the people around the street by now. Every morning starts with opening the shutters and setting things up for whoever might need something that day. There isn’t a lot of mystery to it. We just show up and do what needs doing. It’s a simple setup really. No one here wears a suit or anything. We just dress for the work and get on with things.
