Cognizant

This branch of Cognizant is located out in Village Awan Kot, which is in the Ropar district of Punjab. It’s a bit different from your typical tech office. It’s much quieter out here than in the big cities. We handle a lot of the back-end stuff and support from this location. Most of the people working here are from the nearby areas around Ropar. We aren’t a huge operation at this site, but we keep busy. The building is simple and it stays fairly cool even when the Punjab summer gets really hot. We don’t have a cafeteria or anything, so most of us bring lunch from home or find something local. It feels more like a community than a corporate office sometimes. We just do our work, chat a bit during breaks, and then head back to the village. There isn’t any fancy marketing team here or anything like that. We just focus on the tasks we’re given and try to do them right the first time. It’s a honest day’s work. The internet is surprisingly good for being out in Awan Kot, which is lucky for us. We’ve been here for a while and the locals know where we are. It’s just a practical place to work without all the stress of a big city environment. We like the pace of things here and wouldn't change it much for anything.
