Chandan Super Market

We’ve got our shop set up in Kothrud, at number 1. It’s a basic supermarket where we try to keep everything people need for their daily lives. Most of our time is spent opening boxes and putting stuff on the shelves. It’s a never-ending job because as soon as you fill a shelf, something else runs out. Kothrud is a nice area with a lot of people living nearby, so we get a steady stream of customers from morning until night. We don't have any fancy displays or expensive lighting. It's just rows of groceries, household items, and the usual things you’d expect to find. Sometimes the aisles get a bit narrow when we have a new delivery sitting on the floor waiting to be put away. We know a lot of our customers by name because they come in every few days for milk or bread. It’s a bit of a neighborhood hub in that way. We have a couple of people helping out behind the counter and in the store. We try to keep things simple and just make sure we have the basics in stock. Dealing with suppliers and checking expiration dates takes up a good chunk of the day. It’s not a complicated business, but it requires us to be here every day and keep an eye on everything. We like being part of the Kothrud community.
