Bishwas Pan Stall

Bishwas Pan Stall has been sitting here on Dr Hira Singh Road in Bhosarigoan for a while now. It’s not a big shop, just a small stall that stays open from morning until pretty late at night. The road outside is always dusty and there are always scooters zooming past, so we spend a lot of time dusting off the jars on the counter. We have all the different types of leaves stacked up and we spend the slow hours cleaning them and cutting off the stems. It’s a simple routine. We know the people who live nearby and they usually stop by for a minute to talk about the weather or the traffic. The stall is painted a bright color but it’s fading a bit from the sun. We keep our supplies tucked under the counter in plastic bins. When it rains, we have to pull the plastic sheets down to keep everything dry, which is always a bit of a mess. There’s a small stool in the corner where one of us sits when there aren't any customers. We don't have any big signs or loud music. It’s just a regular place to get what you need and move on. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the jars get mixed up when it’s busy. That’s just how it goes here in Bhosarigoan on this busy road. We keep a bowl of water outside for the local dogs when it's hot.
